Space In Between

The Space In Between series speaks to those rare moments when time feels suspended, yet we are fully present.

It captures the gentle shift between what was and what is still becoming — a moment of deep stillness, presence, and quiet freedom.

The artworks in this series come from faces, images, and scenes that appear in my mind or inner vision. Sometimes they arrive as a single image, and sometimes an entire story unfolds. Each set usually includes a larger finished artwork, created from my own sketches, along with smaller storyboard drawings that reveal parts of the story and the journey behind the final piece.

Purple Rain, 70x50cm, Coloured Pencil

Inspiration came while hearing the song Purple Rain. Partly inspired by it, it carries themes of healing, cleansing, and release – of accepting everything that has happened and finding peace, joy, and presence in where you are in this moment.

Stardust Dreams, 70x50cm, Coloured Pencil

This artwork emerged from a meditation in which I saw a close-up of a single eye, and behind it, stars and the cosmos. The woman portrayed feels like a spirit guide, transcending space and time. It invites you to dream something bigger and to be in harmony with yourself and everything that is.

Hot Blooded, 70x50cm, Coloured Pencil

Someone suggested I focus on the images that arise in a relaxed state, so I began a journey to quiet my mind – this was the first vision that appeared.

A woman is moving in a circular motion, her hair flowing in the wind. If you were to zoom out, you would see she is on 70s-style roller skates, with a young girl, her daughter, by her side. The scene explores themes of freedom, being unbound, and the open expression of joy.
